HCSEG Internship Opportunities

The Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group is now offering two different types of internships for students.  The StreamTeam Internship Program is a combined paid summer internship with a scholarship awarded at completion.  The Research Assistant Internship Program is an unpaid internship for college students who need internship credit involving field work related to their intended major.

The StreamTeam Internship Program Formerly known as the Inspirational Scholarship & Internship Program

StreamTeam Interns complete a paid Summer internship, and receive a $2,500 Scholarship upon completion.  The work consists primarily of conducting stream surveys to characterize the habitat of salmon-bearing streams. 

Benefits:

  • $2,500 college scholarship, paid directly to college of choice
  • Gain valuable field experience while making a positive impact on Wild Salmon ecosystems

Eligibility:

  • Must be a graduating Hood Canal region high school student or college undergraduate (that graduated from a Hood Canal region high school)
  • Attending a 2 or 4 year college in the Fall with a planned major in the field of environmental science, fisheries, biology, ecology, or a related field.

Reseach Assistant Internship Program

 

Research Interns work primarily as field technicians on a variety of seasonal salmon and/or water quality projects.

Eligibility:

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university, with an intended major in environmental science, fisheries, biology, ecology, or a related field.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
