Wild Wise is Woodland Park Zoo's award-winning, statewide outreach program. This program has been modified by adapting video imagery curtailed to terrestrial and aquatic habitats associated with wetlands . The program HCSEG offers is specific to the Theler Wetland ecosystems. Wild Wise offers both in-class as well as outdoor options.
In the classroom program, a high-impact, multi-media, interactive presentation led by zoo naturalists educates students about Washington's wildlife. We take students on "virtual visits" to five Washington habitats, with activities that sharpen their natural science skills by making observations, taking field notes, and sketching wildlife. Students learn how geography, math, art and science have exciting applications in the world outside the classroom. Our outdoor programs are flexible, fun, and highly interactive.
