Environmental Explorations Education Event: Belfair State Park, May 7th 9:00-1:00 PM. Geared towards Middle and High School students. Homeschool students and general public are welcome to visit environmental fair.

The WDFW in cooperation with the HCSEG, would like to create a program in which shoreline residents record observations of smelt, sand lance, anchovy, and herring in Hood Canal. Biologists with the WDFW are asking folks contribute a record of their observations. Once this program is established with formulated methodologies, folks will be asked to help with collecting samples for age and DNA analysis. Volunteer Educators needed for the 2008-09 school year. If you are interested in participating in our Wild Salmon education and outreach in our regional schools, please contact Education Director Christine Daniel. Training is provided. A criminal background check is required when working with students under 18 years of age.
